Committing to Kindness
Our elementary schools are committed to a culture of kindness. We ensure this culture by teaching students how to make friends and be a friend, how to respond to and include others, how to handle differences among one another, and how to effectively resolve conflict. Teachers, paraprofessionals, school counselors and administration are all committed to ensuring this culture through proactive learning experiences.
Some examples of our initiatives in this area include:
* Character Education * Buddy Benches * Random Acts of Kindness * The Great Kindness Challenge
* Mix It Up Day * Cyber-bullying Education * Building Connections (mentors, buddy classes) * Building Student Confidence
